5 minutes to save - you'd be crazy not to switch to save!
Because you could save money on your electricity and gas bills or you can switch to green electricity! And all at no cost to you!
Competition which enables customers to easily switch their electricity and gas suppliers has been rolling out through Victoria from 2002, NSW from 2002, ACT and South Australia from 2003 and in Queensland from 2007.
Competition is generally good for the customer – and in this case it can be good for your home or business! It means that electricity suppliers and gas suppliers are now fighting for your business – and that means you might be able to get cheaper electricity, cheap gas supply, great renewable energy plans or just better add-on product features that are important to you like tickets to the footy or a magazine subscription.
If you decide to switch your electricity or gas supplier to one of our participating suppliers, ShopAround makes the whole switching process simple and free for you to use. To check out the deals available from our participating suppliers simply click on Electricity and Gas Deals.
But if you don’t want to switch you don’t have to. If you haven’t negotiated a new electricity or gas deal with your supplier since competition was introduced, here’s your options:
- Do nothing. Stay on your current contract. But if you remain with your original electricity or gas supplier you can’t negotiate your prices – they are set by government regulatory bodies in each state.
- Move to a negotiated market contract with your current energy supplier.
- Move to a negotiated market contract with a new electricity or gas supplier.
We are proud to offer products from Actew AGL, Click Energy, Dodo Power & Gas and Red Energy. We do not list all suppliers. We only list deals from suppliers we have commercial arrangements with and we also show you the government regulated rate. Each state regulator operates an independent energy price comparison service that lists all suppliers. Check out our Regulator page for links to those sites. We do not guarantee the best or cheapest electricity or gas prices. If you choose to switch to one of our suppliers online, we receive a fee from your new energy supplier.
